Max the Soccer Star

Well Max just finished up his year of soccer on Saturday with a mini tournament where they played two games. He really enjoyed soccer this year and it seems that he is starting to understand the game a little bit more. He usually scored at least 1 goal a game but sometimes he managed to score as many as 6. He was so proud of himself. But you can tell the long summer days started to get to him as he was not interested in going the last 2 or 3 weeks. Here are a couple of pictures of our soccer star.

This shot was taken during warm up for the big game.

Here is his on his way to score a goal.

Um Max that's your own team that your fighting against lol...Oh how kids will be kids...and believe no one got hurt on that push and shove.

Now I bet your wondering where is Braden when all this madness is going on...well look for yourself.

Our little Monkey....Braden has worked all spring long to get across the monkey bars and with a few tries early on in the year he was able to get all the way across. I know I couldn't do it.

Well thanks for checking in on what has been going on lately.

Oh just another little peice of info both Jordan and I have joined Facebook so please if your on there stop by and say hi. And don't forget to leave a little hello here. You don't have to be a member to post a note.

Calgary Zoo

On May long weekend we went down to Okotoks to visit Jordan's brother Gerry and his family in their new house. And while there we took the boys to the Calagry Zoo. Jordan thought it would be fun to just snap action shots of the boys.

Max looking at the map trying to figure out where we are going to go next.

Max was sneaking up on Dad from behind and trying to scare him. Thankfully Jordan didn't get him instead and knock him off the ledge behind.

Having a little ice cream break (thanks Grandma).

Max wanted to go to the playground with Grandma so Jordan and I took Braden to the prehistoric park. Braden loves the dinosaurs. Here is his with the friendly three horn.

Rainbow Ends Day Farm

I was lucky enough to get to go with Braden and his class on a fieldtrip this past May to Rainbow Ends Day Farm. It was such a great day. We had perfect weather and believe it or not the kids actually were very good. I thought I would share a few pictures of Braden from that day as it was his first time holding and seeing some of the animals.

Braden found out that goats are pretty strong and at first the goat was walking him lol.

Here Braden is holding a little bunny. They had to keep a hand under it's butt and one behind the ears.

Here Braden is feeding an Alpaca. What a neat thing. Thankfully they don't spit like Llamas do. I didn't know that Alpacas and llamas are kept on farms to protect the other animals at night from unwanted visitors.

That was our day at the farm. We also got to go on a picnic down by the river, a hay ride and a treasure hunt. One of the little girls in my group landed in the river thankfully it was only socks and shoes that got wet and not a bum. I really enjoyed going with Braden and his class I can't believe that in 11 days he will be a second grader.

Braden and Taekwon Do

Well Braden as most of you know has been going to Taewkon Do this past year. It has become something that he really excels at. He started the year in what they call the Shadow Warrior class. It's for kids 5-8 which is just perfect age wise no real big kids in class. Anyway they start out with a plain white belt and they earn strips and badges along the way. Green first then blue with red ending them out. The big final end point of the year is to get your grey belt which means your on the way to the big class. Well in order to get it there is a test you need to pass. You must know everything up to that point plus no a pattern(not sure how many steps 12 I think) and also be able to punch and kick through paper (not as easy as you think). Braden was able to do all of those things. And here is the end result.

Braden got his grey belt and passed without any errors (one of the only ones his instructor said). One of his other instructors said that with his technique he could easily break wood. Well he was so proud of that fact that of course he wanted to try but Mom being a meany said um no not yet.

Here is Max with Braden he was so proud of his big brother that he left his Preschool picnic to watch him get his belt.

Max's Graduation

Sorry this has been so long in coming but I've been crazy busy with the warm weather and the end of school drawing near.

Well Max Graduated Preschool on May 31st. We were all so proud of him and he was proud of himself. I can't believe how fast the time went this past year. At the start of Preschool he couldn't even hold a pencil the right way but now he can write his own name and can count up to 12 or so by himself. He even know the days of the week(not always in order) same for the months. Max fell in love with his teacher Mrs. Morris and I must say she did an amazing job with him. I still can't believe he's done. Here are some shots from his graduation day!

This is Max with Mrs. Morris after he got his diploma.

This is Max and his bestfriend from class Chance. As you can see they are the best of buds. And they are hoping to be in Kindergarten together this coming year.

Just a quick update

Hey everyone sorry I haven't been into update you all on our going's on but it has been crazy hot here lately and well I haven't been on the computer much.

Max Graduated preschool with no problems. I haven't down loaded the pictures yet but I will hopefully sometime this week. Braden also got his grey belt in Taekwon Do and we were very proud of him.

We bought ourselves a little pool last night but we are thinking it might be a little too small so were are going to return it back to Wal-Mart and get the next size up which will be deep enough for Jordan and I to cool off.

Well I will let you all get back to your day and pleas let me know you stopped by and leave a little note.

Take care.
Jennifer
